Skills Case Mapping Final

Clinical Nursing Skills: Practice for Mastery offers assignable case scenarios to help students learn more about how skills are performed within the context of patient care. • • Decision-making cases (DMCs) are written at a fundamental level to help reinforce student understanding of the skills involved in caring for a patient in context. NCLEX-RN® NextGen-style extended case studies (NextGen) help students develop clinical judgment. The goal of both the decision-making cases and the NextGen-style cases is to help students build on their understanding of multiple skills in context. Rather than drill down on the elements of a single skill, these cases illustrate skill performance in a patient care scenario. The table below provides a list of the different scenarios and maps them to relevant skills covered in them.
